-Garage Floor Coatings-
Garage floor coatings are extremely important for increasing the longevity of a concrete garage floor. These coatings are highly chemical resistant making them a great choice for garages where automotive chemicals are used. An old, stained garage floor can be completely transformed into a new work space with these coatings. There are a wide variety of different garage floor coatings and systems on the market today. Any garage floor coating we apply includes the application of a deep penetrating sealer. This sealer permanently waterproofs the concrete which helps prevent delamination from moisture or mineral salts leeching up from under the slab. Any responsible floor coating specialist will be familiar with a quality waterproofing product to put down prior to the coating application. Most systems are durable, scratch resistant, chemical resistant, and easy to maintain. Automotive chemicals, oils, paint, and other contaminants can be easily cleaned up using a pH neutral degreaser and warm water.

Here are just some of the garage floor coatings offered by Sweet Concrete and Tile llc. for clients in the greater Treasure Valley area including Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Eagle, Garden City, Caldwell, Homedale, Middleton, Kuna, Star, and surrounding areas.
- Epoxy Flake Systems: Epoxy flake systems are a great choice for an old garage floor. These systems are truly unique and come in a wide variety of color combinations. Sweet Concrete offers two types of epoxy flake systems. The traditional is the epoxy based system with an epoxy primer, colored epoxy base coat that the flake is broadcast into, then a clear urethane topical coating is applied over the flake to help increase the durability and stain resistance. The urethane topcoat comes in a matte or gloss finish. The other option is a polyurea flake system. An epoxy primer is applied then a colored polyurea is applied with the flake broadcast into the polyurea. The floor is then clear coated with another coat of polyurea high gloss topical coating. The polyurea systems have less color options but are much more durable and cost effective compared to the traditional epoxy flake systems.
- Hellfire® Garage Floor Coating: Legacy Industrial’s Hellfire® garage floor coating is one of the best on the market. Sweet Concrete is a “preferred applicator” for Legacy Industrial and has experience applying these unique coatings. The Hellfire® coating is a single component, industrial strength coating that’s highly durable and chemical resistant. This coating is applied without a primer and can have three coats applied in one day. This makes the application process less labor intensive than other garage floor coatings and more cost effective. The coating has aluminum in it so it has a slight metallic shimmer to it. It comes in light grey or dark grey and has a beautiful matte finish.
- Colored Epoxies: Colored epoxies are great for covering up stains and and come in a wide variety of colors. These are a great option when a uniform look is desired. The epoxies are clear coated with either a urethane topical coating in matte or gloss finish, or a polyurea high gloss clear coat. The polyurea is much more scratch and chemical resistant compared to a traditional urethane.
- Traditional Concrete Staining: This process includes honing the concrete to remove surface stains and then staining the concrete with a water based concrete stain. The floor is then top coated with a three coat polyurethane topical sealer. This sealer is the most scratch resistant and comes in a matte or gloss finish. This option accentuates preexisting stains in the concrete which can add character to the floor.
