07 Jun Concrete Stain and Seal
Concrete Stain and Seal
This one bedroom, one bath in North San Juan was an old garage that was remodeled. Carpet had been put down over the slab but the previous tenants ruined the carpet and it had to be ripped up. Sweet Concrete was called in to refinish the original concrete. First the areas were masked off and honed with a floor machine and diamond pads. This removed most of the staining and paint that was all over the concrete. The slab was then treated with a permanent penetrating sealer which waterproofed the concrete and prevents any efflorescence from leeching up from below. The floors were then stained with a two color, water based, acrylic stain. After the staining process, the concrete was then sealed with a two coat epoxy topcoat. This process made the floors much more durable and stain resistant than carpet ever would be. It also increases the value of the property, not to mention making it look much nicer than any carpet on the market.
